Leonard Cohen

Last night I was treated to an absolutely incredible experience. I was invited to Leonard Cohen's show at the Hummingbird Centre (yes, I'm still calling it that... must absolutely EVERYTHING be turned into an advertisement?!?)

The vibe was incredibly positive and energetic. It's been a long time since I've felt that much energy at a concert. Every person in the audience, was there to stand in awe of a great poet, singer, songwriter, human being... From the minute the man walked onto the stage until his final disappearance, the crowd went wild. Thunderous applause filled the room. It was a moving experience. It was a large room, and a large crowd, but nonetheless it felt like an intimate gig. Leonard humbly took off his hat to thank each and every person for not only attending that night, but for their years of loving and supporting his art.

Thank you thank you for allowing me to be a part of a wonderful evening.

I was there too. We flew from Los Angeles to Toronto just for the show, and it was worth every penny, every mile.

An exceptional evening!!!!!
I too had the pleasure of Cohen's company on June 6/08. I first discovered his "Suzanne" when I was 16 in '66 and since that time I have loved the man, his words, his songs, his depth! I've seen him each time he's performed in Toronto and this intimate evening was truly a labour of love that our dear Leonard left with us. Words fall short to express the many thank yous, a thousand kisses deep that we have for our angel of mercy!
